Watchmen Chat ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at https://watchmen.chat and the chat service that connects clients with Christian spiritual guides. We are based in London, United Kingdom.

When you sign up: your name, email address, and a hashed password. We never see or store your password in readable form.

When you chat with a guide: the messages you send and receive — they are stored so guides can keep context across sessions and so you can review past readings.

When you pay: PayPal handles all payment information. We receive only the transaction ID, amount, and confirmation. We never see your card or bank details.

Automatically: standard web logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) used solely for security and performance monitoring.

• Send transactional emails (verification codes, receipts, "your guide is available" notifications)
• Send occasional marketing emails — only if you opted in, and you can unsubscribe with one click in every email
• Keep the platform secure and prevent abuse
• Comply with legal obligations (tax records, lawful requests from authorities)

Your guide — they see your name, the messages you send them, and your reading history with them. They do not see your email address, payment details, or chats with other guides.

Service providers we depend on (all bound by data protection agreements):

• PayPal — payment processing
• Resend — transactional emails
• MongoDB Atlas / our hosting provider — storage of your account

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Ever.

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and a minimal amount of anonymized analytics to understand which pages people read most. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers.

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of all the data we hold about you
• Correct — update inaccurate information from your account settings
• Delete — request that we erase your account and chat history
• Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from marketing emails any time (link in every email)
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable export

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@watchmen.chat. We respond within 30 days.

We keep your account and chat history for as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account, we erase personal data within 30 days — except for transactional records we are legally required to keep (typically 7 years for tax purposes).

Watchmen Chat is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we will remove the account immediately.

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. When we make material changes we will email registered users at least 14 days in advance and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
